Scam being run using Dilsner Techology solutions business name

It has been brought to my attention that the business name Dilsner Technology Solutions is being used in one of the many Internet scams circulating.  If you have been contacted by anyone claiming to be from Dilsner Technology Solutions in regards to a job offer THIS IS A SCAM.  If you have provided them with any confidential or passport information you should contact your local fraud authorities.

The RCMP has an online tool and information on fraud reporting at http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/scams-fraudes/rep-sig-eng.htm if you have been contacted by the scammers.

UPDATE:  The scammers have been reported to be using the name Simon Lang and Karin Braun and seeking job applications for an Admin Assistant position for Dilsner Technology Solutions Inc in a variety of Canadian cities including Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Calgary.  The actual job application process appears to be an elaborate scheme to try to build confidence and a relationship with a person and then redirect them toward some type of personal bank transfer arrangement.  They originally used a web site copied from https://milliontech.com/ along with their logo and copy and pasted corporate information publicly available through the Canadian Corporations registry about Dilsner Technology.

Several people that have been contacted by the scammers have posted comments below.

Roger Dilsner

Owner – Dilsner Technologies Solutions Inc.

    Good Morning,

I have been told about going to do administrative assistant training for the office opening on January 25th in Ottawa. The HR email no longer works hrmanager@dilsnertechnology.com
    Was this all a scam?

    • roger January 12, 2018 at 7:56 pm #

Yes sorry, this was a total scam. The scammer registered the name dilsnertechnology.com (the real domain is dilsnertech.com) and setup a bunch of fake email address. The false domain was reported to the domain registrar for abuse and they have since suspended the fake domain. Dilsner Technology has no office. If you have been asked to visit a physical location or have provided any private information I can put you in touch with the RCMP, since I did report this and they have a file open.
UPDATE: I added information on how to report to the RCMP directly in the main posting. If you want the original file number please let me know and I can email it to you, but I expect referencing “job application scam” and “Dilsner Technology Solutions” will link anything you post together with any other reports that have been filed.

Hello. I will contact you by email and provide you with the RCMP file number to reference.
It appears that the scammers took a logo and content from this web site https://milliontech.com/ and looked up public corporate information on Dilsner Technology Solutions and cut and pasted them together.

  3. Mikaela January 13, 2018 at 2:29 pm #

I was contacted too here in Winnipeg. I provided them with my resume information and now they have my signature. Should I be reporting this too and should I be worried?

    • roger January 13, 2018 at 6:02 pm #

I have no idea what the scammers were ultimately trying to accomplish. With most scams the formula used is to establish some type of credible background story, contact a person and build a level of trust, and once that trust and credibility have been falsely established ask them for information, or money, or something that they would normally not provide. If you feel you have provided any confidential information that could be used to apply for credit or other purposes you may want to contact your bank or local police. Hopefully this scam was caught before it reached the final stage where the scammers were trying to get whatever it was they originally had in mind.

Thanks for throwing up a website. Got far enough into it that they sent a “job offer” brochure. The “job” described in the brochure was to receive money transfers in a personal bank account to process their invoices. The process mentioned using crypto currency and how how they wouldn’t be liable for any losses.

I was also scammed by those people for a job offer as an administrative assistant in Toronto.
Please send me the RCMP file to reference and details.
    Thank you in advance.

I was also scammed too. I thought something was off the way the phone lines did not respond after their said interview…so what do I do now, I need to call the police

  8. Susan January 15, 2018 at 5:29 pm #

I too was contacted about a job in Montreal – Admin Assistant.

I do have the number they called from and I too signed the form they asked me to complete – contact info, work experience.

Would you suggest I contact the local fraud department?

    • roger January 15, 2018 at 7:48 pm #

I have forwarded you the file number.
There is good information on the RCMP web site at http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/scams-fraudes/rep-sig-eng.htm and access to their central fraud reporting system. They also have some information on how to deal with any personal information that may have been shared.
From other people that have contacted me it appears the end goal of the scammers was to build up a relationship and confidence via a fake job application process and then ask for permission to start processing funds via crypto-currencies using personal bank accounts.

    • roger January 16, 2018 at 10:42 pm #

Hi Jordon. If you feel you have provided them with any confidential information you may want to contact your bank and file a report using the link in the original posting, but if not you are probably fine.

  16. Cassandra January 16, 2018 at 7:12 pm #

    Hi,

I have also been contacted by them in Ottawa. They went as far as a telephone interview with me where the lady (Jennifer Stone was the name she used) barely spoke any English and hung up on me when I had questions.
She was clearly reading a paragraph and the whole point was that I was being hired and would receive an email with training information.

Thank you for letting us know that this is a scam.

    Cassandra

  17. Elle January 19, 2018 at 12:44 am #

Just some more details in case it helps and since it looks like they used common fake names.
    – Karin Braun, HR Manager
    – Jennifer Stone, personal assistant to Simon Lang
    – Simon Lang, Development Manager

Phone interviewer was “Jennifer Stone” who obviously wasn’t a fluent English speaker — accent sounded maybe Southeast Asian. Phone number, probably spoofed, was 306-xxx-xxxx or Saskatchewan based.

    • roger January 19, 2018 at 5:46 am #

Thanks very much for the info. I had traced one of the 306 area code numbers they had used and it linked to a VOIP service that basically let you pick any area code you wanted for the call display, so the “306” could have been originating from anywhere in the world.
